Most of the content on this site is the result of moments stolen from late evenings and weekends. In the real world Tim is an independent digital media consultant. Tim has developed his user-centered approach through more than 14 years experience defining and implementing CD and web-based solutions for companies ranging from Fortune One to Fortune None. His strong information architecture and client management skills are enhanced by a unique combination of creative, business analysis, and technical abilities. Tim believes that it is ridiculous when people write about themselves in the third person. |
Back Story

Larval Stage A number of reliable sources report that I was born. An exceptionally charismatic and dynamic child there were no early indications that I would grow up to be a geek. Except, perhaps, the sweater vests. And occasional bow tie. |
Education Several years later I attended Michigan State University. I went in looking to create television and radio. I majored in telecommunications, with a production emphasis. I was fortunate to work positions ranging from unit producer for a PBS television series to director for live satellite distance learning courses at MSU. |

In 1992 I discovered "hypermedia" - this cool emerging digital interactive multi-media stuff. Telecom 446 Hypermedia Interface Design changed my life. What I learned in that class, and the subsequent years I spent working on projects in the Communications Technology Laboratory set me firmly on my volatile, but always interesting, career path. I was very fortunate to work on projects in the Comm Tech Lab for roughly three years. |
| It was while working in the Lab that Bri Cors showed me this "Internet" thing that let you see content hosted on computers all over the world. You could get text and images, and there were more than 1700 different "sites". I was initially unimpressed by what I saw, which became the topic of my first Web page, posted in October of 1994. I didn't really see much practical use for the thing. Yes, I was dumb. For about 7 months. |

Career July 1, 1995 I co-founded Nervevore Communications. We created web solutions for clients in Michigan and Chicago for nearly 3 years. Running Nervecore was an incredible learning experience. Selling our services, defining the business requirements, developing the sites, billing, bookkeeping, and collections helped develop my skills. |

I've worked for a number of Internet consulting firms. I got the same two things from each: reinforcement that my loyalties need to be to my clients first...and a mug. |

Which Brings Us to Today... I've been an independent consultant since late 2001. In addition to web based projects I am a principal in Constant Delta, a company that develops educational and entertainment software titles for shrink wrap retail and Internet distribution. I am proud of the products we have brought to market. |
